Stephan Klatt
Home country: Germany
Program: Bachelor of Business
After nearly a year and a half at USC, Germany’s Stephan Klatt feels he is “nearly an Aussie” and will find it difficult to leave.
“Now I have the feeling that I can work anywhere in the world and I am sure I will be back (in Australia) one day,” he says.
Stephan says studying overseas allows students to learn more about themselves.
“I think the experience of being far away from home is going to help someone to grow as a person,” Stephan says.
“You meet so many different people and you make friends from different countries.”
Stephan says he has enjoyed working closely with USC's academic staff.
“I really like the proximity to lecturers and tutors—you just ask them if you have questions or different opinions and they help you straight away,” he says.
“The structure and education (offered) in the courses is good as well.”
Stephan describes USC International Relations Student Services staff as “supportive and encouraging”.
“They helped to overcome the culture shock, and to deal with visa and immigration issues or how to cover my health insurance,” Stephan says.
“They are just great.”
Stephan has also enjoyed training at the USC Athletics Club, where he also does some work as an assistant coach.
“It’s great because I meet new people and make new friends,” Stephan says.
