Jill McGuire
Master of Creative Arts graduate
Jill McGuire's postgraduate studies at USC have helped her enter the pioneering world of companion publishing.
As an interactive writer and designer for publishing company John Wiley & Sons, Jill combines traditional book text with interactive CD-ROMs to open up a new world of opportunity to young people across the nation.
Jill's decision to complete a Master of Creative Arts at USC allowed her to work with creative writing senior lecturer and renowned author Gary Crew.
The fiction component of Jill's Masters thesis, The Kaleidoscopers: exploring interactive fiction for teenagers aged 13-15 years old, has been sent to a publisher, and she is now working on a second interactive novel.
"Working with Gary was essential to my project," Jill says.
"He is a world class children's author as well as an established academic. His experience and enthusiasm inspired me to push the boundaries of technology and literature."
