Kenamile Badubi
Home country: Botswana
Program: Bachelor of Arts (International Studies)
Kenamile Badubi is the first student from Botswana (so far) to
study at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
"I am sharing a house in homestay. It is quite affordable and
quite big," Kenamile says.
"It has safe and nice walkways to the Uni."
Kenamile finds the academic support at USC unique.
"The one-to-one personal contact with lecturers and tutors is
great, I've never had that kind of communication and support
before," he says.
Enjoying the social side of university life is important and
international students have a busy social calendar.
"The International Relations staff keep everybody informed of
the social and academic activities for international students (and)
I found that to be helpful."
Kenamile sums up USC as the "User-Friendly" team.
"I am doing a Bachelor of Arts (International Studies) right now
and here I have a good choice of courses," he says.
"One of my mentors is the Soccer Coach and we both have the same
soccer passion!"
He also recommends the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.
"The Sunshine Coast is quite a laid back environment, not busy
or metropolitan."
"I would recommend studying here to students from home, it is
similar (to home) with no big environmental shocks, with casual,
open and receptive people who are most welcoming and make my stay
most comfortable."
"Socially you wouldn't have any problems coming here," Kenamile
added.
