A business associate recommended University of the Sunshine Coast to Bachelor of Business (Accounting) student Sajal Barua at a time when Sajal was looking to upgrade his business skills.

“I met an Australian businessman who told me about USC and explained the opportunities available there. I decided to study Accounting and found I was also learning important business skills including Management, Marketing and Law,” Sajal says.

Sajal gained confidence in his new found business knowledge and looked for ways to apply it in a real world situation while studying.

“With the knowledge I gained I felt more confident and I started to think about how I could explore my knowledge in the field. I started applying for work within successful business organisations,” he says.

USC staff supported Sajal in his search for work.

“(USC) Student Services helped me very much to explore my knowledge, and to apply for a managerial job. I got so much help from this Uni, I thank everyone who helped me and is helping now,” he says.

Sajal is successfully balancing work and study and his plans include postgraduate study at USC and future success in business.

“I was fortunate to get a job as a store manager. My future plan is to be a successful business man,” Sajal says.

“To be a success in business I need to study more and I hope I’ll upgrade my degree at USC as well.”

Sajal recommends USC to others for its cost, location and supportive staff. “The tuition fees are less than other universities and the staff are very helpful,” he says.

“I love the mountains and the ocean, I’m a nature lover and I like this location for its natural beauty.”
