Professional development course for property developers
The University of the Sunshine Coast will hold an innovative professional development course for the property sector early next month (Thursday and Friday 5-6 June).
The ground-breaking “Understanding Contemporary Property” course is aimed at those keen to broaden and update their knowledge about current trends and approaches to property development.
It will feature presentations by leading property professionals and will be facilitated by Professor Mike Hefferan, who is one of only two Professors of Property and Development in Queensland.
Participants will gain an insight into the critical components of the property sector, from legal and financial matters through to property selection and negotiation, seeking development approvals, construction and project management.
The interactive two-day course has been designed for private individuals, firms, shareholders, board members, investors and public sector employees who need to understand more about all aspects of property assets and projects.
Presenters will include SGS Economics and Planning director Mark Spiller, Russel Josipovic of the Department of Infrastructure and Planning, Heron Todd White director Jeff Southwell, Munro Thompson Lawyers principal Terry Bethke, CONICS Sunshine Coast managing director Mark Farrell, Wardner Developments director Ty Wardner and RCP Brisbane managing director Russell Martoo and a St George Bank State Manager for Queensland Robert Phelps and Head of Property Finance Neil McAllister.
USC lecturers Dr Scott Prasser and Dr Cheryl Rivers also will make presentations about the likely future of property development and about property negotiations respectively.
