Students’ work on show at USC Gallery

Computer-Based Design students Erin Bacchi and Chenoa Pettrup

14 November 2008

Three years of work by 38 advanced-level Computer-Based Design students has gone on show in the University of the Sunshine Coast Gallery’s final exhibition for 2008, "thread".

This exhibition of the graduating students’ portfolios was officially opened by ABC Radio Trendspotter André La Porte on Thursday 13 November before a crowd of more than 300 people.

The exhibition will continue until Saturday 22 November.

Computer-Based Design lecturer Toni Coles said "thread" was symbolic of the students’ abilities to create "tapestries of ideas" from a single concept.

“The exhibition will provide the future leaders of design with the opportunity to weave their way into the broader design network and creative industries,” she said.

Ms Coles said the graduating students were likely to work in fields ranging from advertising, graphic design, information visualisation and interpretive design to animation, multimedia design and development, packaging, publishing and web design.

Admission to the exhibition is free and the Gallery is open from 10am to 4pm Mondays to Saturdays. The 2008 USC Gallery Exhibition Program is proudly supported by major sponsor coastline BMW.
