University Showcase to visit Coast high schools
A travelling University Showcase will visit 14 high schools across the Sunshine Coast next week (25-28 March) to provide Year 11 and 12 students with a comprehensive display of tertiary study options.
The University of the Sunshine Coast has organised the event which will feature seven universities, the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE and the Australian Defence Force as exhibitors.
Almost every university in Queensland will take part, including the University of the Sunshine Coast, University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, James Cook University, Griffith University, Bond University and the Australian Catholic University.
USC External Relations Coordinator Kylie Russell said the University Showcase would ensure the region’s students were well informed about their future study choices.
“Bringing all the exhibitors to the region provides a one-stop-shop for students interested in tertiary study and gives them an opportunity to find out more about degree programs, admissions, tertiary study costs, accommodation and university life in general,’’ she said.
“For some school students, particularly on the Sunshine Coast, it’s difficult to access so much information across such a wide variety of education providers. The University Showcase will give students the best opportunity to make a choice that’s right for them.”
Ms Russell said USC’s student ambassadors would travel with the showcase to talk one-on-one with high school students about their university experiences.
