USC business degrees equal jobs

A business degree from the University of the Sunshine Coast equals a job according to a recent survey* of Australian university business degrees.

USC's Faculty of Business accounting graduates come out in top place in the survey of business graduate employment rates with USC's business degrees rating higher than the national average when it comes to graduates finding jobs.

USC accounting graduates have a 100 per cent success rate (the national rate is 91 per cent), while other graduate employment rates - including marketing, tourism and human resources - are above the national average with 91 per cent of graduates finding work within four months of completing their degrees.

Faculty of Business Dean, Professor Deborah Ralston, puts the success down to the quality of the degrees offered at USC.

"Our degrees are structured to match industry demand and these survey results are evidence that our approach to business study here at USC is working," Professor Ralston said.

"Business graduates are being offered employment and at times even before they have completed their studies.

"Given that the Sunshine Coast region's employment rate is lower than the national average, and that many graduates want to remain working on the Coast, this result is outstanding," she said.

The Faculty of Business offers degrees in accounting, financial planning, human resource, information systems, international business, management, marketing, tourism, sustainable tourism, and information and communication technology.

Dual award programs are also offered jointly between the University and Cooloola Sunshine Institute of TAFE (CSIT) such as a Diploma of Event Management and Bachelor of Business (Tourism).

The University has a range of postgraduate programs including Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma, Masters and Doctorate degrees available through its Faculty of Business.
