Coast Research
All research at USC is known as Coast Research. This denotes the coastal nature of USC's region, linking with the University's name. It also refers to the University's Open Access to research outputs which are available through the Coast Research Database.
USC undertakes research that is internationally, nationally and locally significant under the banner of two broad themes:
USC further concentrates its research effort in a limited number of areas of research strength. At present these areas are applied genetics in primary production, regional sustainability and the health professions. Currently USC has a designated research centre or research group in each of these areas.
USC is a member of Eidos. Associate Professor Kathy Lynch coordinates USC's Eidos activities.
Important dimensions of Coast Research are USC’s research links with Kingfisher Bay Resort and Dilli Village on Fraser Island and ex-HMAS Brisbane Conservation Park.
