Nomination guidelines
The selection criterion for the Outstanding Alumni of the Year Awards is:
- Graduates who have attained significant achievements in their field of endeavour since graduating from the University. Areas of achievement may include (one or all):
- professional
- academic, including research
- community
- other
- To give a nominee the best support, it is recommended that the following documentation be provided:
- A statement of support (500–1000 words) describing the achievements, qualities and relevant experiences of the nominee that address the selection criterion above
- Nominee's resume
- Other supporting documents (media clippings, brochures etc.)
- One written letter of endorsement (required for self-nomination)
- Details that would best support the nominee include:
- local, national and / or international community involvement
- career development (company supported / driven and / or personally driven development)
- career success, affiliations or awards received
Nominations can be made by USC alumni, staff, students and members of the community—such as employers, family, friends etc. Self–nominations are accepted if a written letter of endorsement is included.
Former nominations that were unsuccessful may be resubmitted by including any updated information since the previous nomination.
Nominations for the Outstanding Alumni of the Year Awards are generally open between April–July each year, however information about outstanding graduates and their achievements is welcome at any time.
