Education partnerships

The University has developed strong links with a range of education providers within Australia and abroad, including:

  • securing the largest single funding boost to its development since it opened in 1996 by winning a $24 million Commonwealth Government Grant for two new buildings in partnership with Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE and the Wide Bay Institute of TAFE
  • with international tertiary institutions in around 20 countries, to deliver the Global Opportunities (GO) Program for students
  • with Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE, to offer dual award programs and ease the transition between TAFE and university
  • with many Australian universities, for collaborative research projects
  • with Sunshine Coast high schools, to offer the Headstart program (a Year 11 and 12 university experience) to local high school students
  • with Immanuel Lutheran College, to co-host the Voices on the Coast Youth Literature Festival on campus
  • with University of the Third Age, to provide facilities on campus for their delivery of lifelong learning programs

USC has a strong relationship with Sunshine Coast Council to develop and implement a shared vision for education across the Sunshine Coast.

Supporting this vision for the region also involves working with Education Queensland to develop the Knowledge Precinct around the University, and with Queensland Health, University of Queensland and Sunshine Coast TAFE to develop the education and training component of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
