Community partnerships
Partnerships
The University has strong partnerships with community organisations, hosting a variety of community events and activities on campus each year, including:
- Voices on the Coast – an annual literary festival co-hosted by USC and Immanuel Lutheran College
- World Environment Day – an annual sustainability event co-hosted by USC, the Sunshine Coast Council, Sunshine Coast Environment Council
- Ride to Work Day – a day to raise awareness and encourage cycling, walking and catching public transport, organised by USC and Sunshine Coast Council
- Innovation Centre business events – for local business people and entrepreneurs, organised by the Innovation Centre and supported by Westpac
- USC Art Gallery exhibitions – involving local and national artists and art organisations
- Sunshine Coast Sports Hall of Fame – a permanent display in the Health and Sport Centre recognising the achievements of local sportspeople
- Northern University Games – USC has been a host of these games, in partnership with Australian University Sport
Get involved
Members of the community can also get involved with USC by:
- attending public lectures on a range of topical issues
- using the sporting facilities
- participating in classes held by the University of the Third Age on campus
- volunteering at the USC Art Gallery
- supporting USC students through scholarships and bursaries
