Breadcrumbs

The Outstanding Alumni Awards recognise and celebrate the many achievements of USC graduates, both professionally and personally for outstanding contributions to their profession, community and advancement of society.

Nominations for the 2016 Outstanding Alumni Awards closed on 30 June 2016 and reopen around April each year. The awards will be presented to recipients at the Outstanding Alumni Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 13 September 2016 at the Sippy Downs campus.

Eligibility

  • To be eligible, nominees must be a graduate of the University of the Sunshine Coast.
  • Achievements attained before graduating from USC will be taken in to consideration, but the focus is on achievements after graduation.
  • Graduates do not have to be working in the particular discipline from which they graduated.
  • Former nominations that were unsuccessful may be resubmitted by including any updated information since the previous nomination.
  • Nominations can be made by any member of the community including: USC alumni, staff, students, family, friends and business associates.
  • Self–nominations are accepted if a letter of endorsement is included from another person stating why they believe the nominee is eligible.

 Award categories

  • Outstanding Alumnus of the Year
  • Regional Achievement
  • Rising Star

Nominators do not need to nominate for a specific award category, as the judging panel will determine which categories the nominees are most suited for.

At the discretion of the judging panel, up to two Rising Star recipients may be awarded in a given year.

Not all categories must be awarded in any given year and will depend on the calibre of nominations.
