Over 8.5 million visitors travel to the Sunshine Coast each year and hosts over 60 sporting, music and lifestyle events each year. The Sunshine Coast is known for its beautiful natural attributes, highly acclaimed resorts and restaurants, and its many lively events and activities. The region is a sweet-spot in Australia, placed in between Brisbane and the Great Barrier Reef Region (largest reef in the world), its unique natural environment, and its innovative and sustainable businesses approaches attract tourists from all over the world.

The tour provides an interesting perspective of some of the Coast’s treasured tourist assets:

  • Noosa Biosphere / National Park: Home to wildlife such as koalas and echidnas along the protected coastline where rainforest meets the sea.

  • Hinterland Montville / Maleny: Explore tropical rainforests and waterfalls.

  • Mount Coolum: A quick and easy hike to the top, at the bottom enjoy Coolum beach.

  • Welcome dinner: Guest speakers will engage you in the possibilities of your future.
 Day 3 Innovative food

Maleny Bunya FeastsThe the Gubbi Gubbi peoples are the traditional owners of the Sunshine Coast region, every three years the Bunya trees would fruit, proving local Indigenous clans from the surrounding regions with a harvest period. The annual Bunya Festival celebrates this ancient tradition and honours the ancestors of these lands.

Buderim Ginger factory - From the largest range of the world's finest ginger products to tranquil gardens and walks, there is so much to discover, taste, see and do. The Ginger Factory is a multi-award winning tourism venue. It offers a mix of educational and gastronomic tours that display the production process of ginger from its extraction to the exportation of its diverse range of products.

Maleny Dairies - is a fourth generation family owned business situated in the hinterland town of Maleny. It produces a range of dairy deliciousness for the whole family to enjoy and offers farm and factory tours to tourists. Discover for yourself the process of milk from the cow to the bottle and everything in-between. After the tour you can enjoy complimentary taste testing and discover first hand why Maleny dairy deliciousness has won so many awards.

Noosa Food & Wine Festival - The festival takes a large role on Sunshine Coast’s Tourism and blends with the beach culture experience of Noosa. Discover new flavours and great Australian, with some of Australia’s best chefs in beautiful beach, river and hinterland locations. Alongside over 50 winemakers the festival have developed into a cracking lineup of brunches, dinners, cocktail parties and experiences.

 Day 4 Beachside culture

Noosa Festival of Surfing - The world’s largest surfing event by competitor numbers, the Noosa Festival of Surfing celebrates everything from longboard to dog surfing. The event covers more than 30 divisions including longboard, short board, finless, stand-up paddle boards, body surfing and even dog surfing. It is renowned for its perfect peeling waves off First Point. The festival brings a unique entertainment village on the sand in front of the break with licensed bar and food franchises, live music and movies nightly, as well as a surf expo. It is an innovative event that permeates the Sunshine Coast beach culture and tourism.

Coastal Pathway - This pathway is a world class scenic route connecting the coast. People can explore the beautiful coastline by walking, jogging or cycling. The pathway runs beside beaches, parks, leisure areas and a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and shops. It is a part of the beach side culture of the Sunshine Coast and is visited by a large amount of tourists and locals.

 Day 5 Exhilarating events

Ironman 70.3 - A world class course taking in highlights of the region from country to coast. Competitors will take in the best that Mooloolaba has to offer, starting with a swim off the surf beach followed by a fast bike course. The run ties up the day’s exciting events with a two lap course around Mooloolaba’s Esplanade cheered on by spectators. The event brings economic boom to the region through the attraction of locals, tourists and competitors from all around the world.

Caloundra Music Festival - The festival aims to bring a broad audience of locals and visitors together in celebration, to enjoy world-class music, food, arts and local culture, and to showcase the natural beauty, creative talents and unique character of the Sunshine Coast'

 Day 6 Immersive encounters

Glasshouse Mountains - The Glass House Mountains are regarded as one of the most spiritual and sacred sites for the Sunshine Coast's Aboriginal clans. Journey to the top of the land belonging to the Gubbi Gubbi people and their ancestors.

Whale One - Located in the Mooloolaba Wharf, Steve Irwin's Whale One boat from the Australia Zoo is a fun, relaxing and educational experience for everyone. The vessel is open for whale watching, sunset and lunch cruises. The 65 foot luxury cruise ship also hosts corporate functions, parties and ceremonial occasions.

Strawberry Fields - offer visitors the opportunity to pick your own strawberries with trays supplied, or if you like they can provide you with a range of ready packed Strawberries for your convenience. There is also a shop that serves strawberry ice-creams and other refreshments. There is a range of gifts and other merchandise for visitors to purchase.

 Day 7 Wonders of nature

Kondalilla National Park -  named after the Aboriginal word meaning ‘rushing water’,  explore the park's ancient lands and see how Kondalilla Falls got its name.

Australia Zoo - home of the Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, offers a full day of wildlife action and adventure, where tourists can check out all our amazing wildlife, set on over 70 acres of natural Australian bush land. The Zoo features a diversity of activities that makes it a strong touristic attraction such as Crocodile Shows, Animal educational encounters and a Jet Ski Show. The Zoo is also known for its very positive environmental impact.

Maleny Botanic Gardens and Birdworld - Maleny Botanic Gardens are surrounded by magnificent rainforest with spectacular views of the Glasshouse Mountains. Over 6kms of walking paths meander around thousands of different plants, ranging from roses, azaleas and annuals to some of the rarest cycads in the world. All of which are complemented by numerous lakes and waterfalls – providing countless options for photography.

 Optional 3 Day Fraser Island and Great Barrier Reef tour

1 Day Tour of Fraser Island - Fraser Island is a heritage-listed island located along the south-eastern coast of the state of Queensland, Australia. It is the world largest sand island stretching 120kms.

2 Day Tour of Lady Elliot Island - Lady Elliot Island is a coral cay located at the southern tip of the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef. Situated within a highly protected ’Green Zone’ the island is a sanctuary for over 1,200 species of marine life and is known for its abundance of manta rays, turtles, and unspoilt coral reef.
