Chinese

Wenting Ouyang has completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in China and obtained a Master of Teaching Degree at La Trobe University in 2009. With several years of teaching in Melbourne, she gained intensive experience of teaching and designing appropriate curriculums to suit diverse levels and backgrounds as a qualified teacher. As a native Chinese Mandarin speaker, she enjoys creative Mandarin teaching and also bringing rich Chinese culture into the classroom.

German

Elizabeth Blair (BA Dip Ed) has been involved in languages education for over 35 years. She has worked in a broad range of environments: teaching German from Prep to Year 12 as well as some French; co-ordinating the introduction of languages into primary schools in Central Queensland; organising language camps and school tours for students and implementing remote language learning programs using computer/phone links. Elizabeth travels to Germany regularly to kept her linguistic and cultural knowledge current, but having learned German at school/university in Queensland, understands the challenges of mastering a second language in Australia. She has organised the Sunshine Coast Speech Competition for the last 8 years since its inception and is a member of the Goethe-Institut sponsored Multiplikatoren group, which provides professional development to other German teachers. Elizabeth has a passion for languages and cultures and believes anyone can learn one regardless of age.

French

Lee-anne Gordon has over 15 years’ experience as a French Teacher in both Australia and the UK. She is qualified with a 4 year French Honors Degree and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education Secondary French with distinction. She is an avid learner herself and regularly attends professional development and network meetings to ensure her language teaching pedagogy is fresh and innovative. Having lived and studied in France, she has a passion for all things French and currently teaches in a prominent school on the Sunshine Coast.

Indonesian

Ms Endah Pancaningsih Curtis, originally from Solo, Central Java, has a Master of Education Studies from Curtin University, Perth and has taught Indonesian language for over fifteen years in various Australian schools and universities. Endah engages her students in Indonesian language and culture through fun personalised learning interactions spiced with humour, performance and the occasional Indonesian meal. Endah is conducting research on the state of Christian schooling in Indonesia.

Italian

Laura Mason-Baierl is a native Italian speaker and an experienced teacher with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from USC. She grew up in the Italian canton of Switzerland and is passionate about learning and languages. To pursue these passions, Laura completed her tertiary studies firstly in French, with a Master of Economics and Social Science from the Swiss University of Fribourg and then with a Master of Commerce at the University of NSW in Sydney. She is now an Australian citizen and has been teaching Italian to adults and children for many years.

Japanese

Michiko Matsumoto is a dedicated Japanese Teacher with 10 years’ experience teaching both children and adult learners. Before moving to Australia 10 years ago, she has completed a Bachelor degree majoring Japanese history and culture, and Japanese language teaching course. In Australia, she received a Graduate Diploma and Masters in Education from QUT. Her passion is to provide enjoyable learning opportunities and support Japanese learners to achieve their goals.

Spanish

Eva Rodrigo is a qualified Modern Languages Teacher from Spain. She completed a 5 year Honours Degree in Language and Literature at Universidad Complutense (Madrid). She also completed Postgraduate Certificates in Teaching of Spanish  as a Second Language at Universidad Internacional Menendez Pelayo (Santander) and Universidad Europea de Madrid. She has extensive experience teaching languages in schools and also tutoring adults and children. Eva has a passion for languages and cultures, she is also an enthusiastic traveller. Having moved with her family to the Sunshine Coast in February of 2015, she is enjoying Australia's culture and way of living.
