USC Starfish Program

USC students need your help

The path to success for USC students isn’t always an easy one. With around one in five students coming from low income backgrounds there are many who struggle to balance long work hours, study and family commitments. For some, the pressure is too much and tragically they drop out altogether.

The Starfish Program supports these students who might otherwise be unable to complete their degree due to everyday financial pressures.

How you will make a difference

For many USC students, education is the key to unlocking a successful and fulfilling future and one which will also contribute positively to their community. By supporting the USC Starfish Program you will help change the future of a USC student. Your contribution goes towards providing eligible students with a Study Support Bursary which assists with study related costs such as textbooks, food and transportation.

Being able to cut back from working excessive hours allows recipients to focus on their studies and ensure they have every opportunity to succeed. Those assisted have said that the support is like a ‘lifeline’, a ‘saving grace’ and that it ‘lifted a weight off their shoulders’. You can visit USC Starfish stories to read many personal stories of how this program is making a difference, one student at a time.
