It was gratifying to witness the success of USC’s Building Excellence Campaign - particularly in the large numbers of individuals who donated.
This was truly the community’s campaign in its diversity and scope of participation. The $5 million raised has already made a meaningful impact on USC students and programs.
On the heels of that success, I have the privilege of serving in a dual role as both Chancellor of the University and a Patron of the Foundation Board.
The joint appointment emphasises the importance that USC places on community partnerships.
Reaching out to our alumni, donors, and the Sunshine Coast region is a cornerstone of USC’s mission.
Going forward, the priorities for the University Foundation will remain firmly centered around students; building private support to bring deserving individuals to USC, and keep them here.
The results of these endeavors are life-changing for the students, and deeply rewarding for donors. In addition, the Sunshine Coast region is fortified with some of the brightest and best-educated minds in Australia.
The University of the Sunshine Coast has without doubt the most important and far reaching responsibility possible—the advanced education of our people.
Because of that, we all have a role in helping this exciting University to fulfill its important role.
I look forward to working closely with our very special community to achieve the full potential of this University.
