High school attended: Coolum State High School
Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Honours) (Major in Water and Environment)
Target graduation date: 2016
My journey: My Academic journey began straight out of High School, where I began a degree at USC. Being only 17 I felt I needed to mature before committing to my studies, at this point I joined the Navy. Spending six years sailing the seven seas, deploying to the Middle East and visiting over 40 countries I knew it was time to come back to the Sunshine Coast and pick up where I left off.
Uni involvement: Social Sport, USC Spartans Rugby
Other: Completed the Summer program in Germany for Sustainable Development. Engineers Without Borders Design Summit Australia Finalist.
Career aspirations: As I have a very adventurous nature, I can see myself travelling the world with my degree. Perhaps a position within the resource sector due to the abundance of opportunities available for young engineers.
Why did you become an Ambassador? The passion I have for the Sunshine Coast and this University is so great, I felt becoming an ambassador would allow me to pass on these passions. The team is positive and I am excited to be apart of this.
What do you like about USC? The support network – friends, lecturers, tutors and all USC staff are willing to throw their hat in the ring to try and help where needed. The environment is so beautiful and natural, it represents the Sunshine Coast so very well!
