What is it?
Robotics and Coding will be presented by Dr Damien Kee. Damien works with students and teachers internationally, bringing the effective use of technology into the classroom. ‘Robotics encourages kids to think creatively, analyse situations and apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to real world problems. Teamwork and co-operation are a cornerstone of any robotics project. Students learn it is acceptable to make mistakes, especially if it leads them to better solutions’.
Using the LEGO Education EV3 robot kits, Damien will lead the students to explore and enhance their coding and sensor knowledge. Following this they are presented with a number of challenges for their robots to undertake. By testing their models and improving performance, students exercise problem solving and team working skills.
This event will provide students with cross-curricular opportunities in STEM.
