High school attended: Deception Bay State High School
Degree: Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Honours) (Major in Construction Management)
Target graduation date: 2018
My journey: Initially I had the intentions of studying to become an architect, however after attending an engineering day camp with a friend of mine, I then grew an interest in Engineering, Civil Engineering to be more specific. After careful consideration I decided not to take a gap year and to go straight into uni.
Career aspirations: I hope to start my professional career during the latter half of my third year with an established Engineering, working part time or on a casual basis. I hope that through doing so, this will help me with my preparation for when I graduate with my degree. I look forward to travel around the country and maybe the world, if the opportunity presents itself. I have intentions on managing or overseeing construction of high-rises, dams, bridges, mine sites and many more.
Why did you become an Ambassador? I wanted to become an ambassador after talking to one at the TSXPO in 2014, after listening to what he had to say about his job, it just sounded interesting. I also see this as an opportunity to inspire more South Pacific Islanders like myself to achieve a higher education. I would also like to share the great experience I’ve had here at USC.
What do you like about USC? I enjoy the calm and green environment that surrounds the USC campus, not only that there are many student support systems that will aid students in any way. Seeing kangaroos around campus are always a delight. The people, lecturers, tutors and the learning atmosphere that helps build the strong foundation of USC, truly makes my learning experience memorable.
