Ian Wright is the Educational Technologies and Environments Coordinator with USC's Centre for Support and Advancement of Learning and Teaching. Working with a team of motivated, enthusiastic and highly capable staff, he is keen to see the University build on its well recognised strengths in face-to-face teaching by taking advantage of the great possibilities of the mighty digital revolution.
Since entering the tertiary education sector about fifteen years ago, Ian has been heavily involved with the introduction of various educational technologies from the early days of Learning Management Systems to ePortfolios. His main motivation is seeing people empowered through demystification and mastery of technologies that enable them to do the important stuff (teaching, learning, researching, discovering, living) better. Prior to working at universities, Ian had a diverse work history including welfare work, professional audio, photography, rural community development and running his own business in submission/tender writing, organisational analysis and project design.
