Alex McKean has been involved in the USC Law School since early 2014, developing materials and lecturing in torts. He joined the academic staff in September 2015. Alex has been in practice as a barrister on the Sunshine Coast since 2010, dealing primarily with personal injuries claims and other civil litigation. Prior to that, Alex worked as a solicitor in private practice for Maurice Blackburn lawyers in Queensland.
Alex McKean teaches in the areas of civil procedure and legal ethics and will be developing and co-ordinating the legal internship program or placement of USC law students with local firms. Alex is a volunteer at the Suncoast Community Legal Service and has previously been President of the management committee of that Service.
Alex's research interests include anti-corruption and integrity systems and public and professional ethics.
