Melissa Innes joined the School of Business at the University of the Sunshine Coast in August, 2016 in the role of associate lecturer, Management and Human Resources Management.
Melissa graduated with distinction from a Bachelor of Business majoring in Management (with a Human Resource Management minor) from QUT in 1999.
Following intensive project management and HR consulting roles in the United Kingdom, Melissa returned to Australia to a sessional academic role at University of the Sunshine Coast. She has been teaching at the University now for over a decade.
Melissa has human resource consultancy experience in conducting HR audits and designing and delivering employee and leadership training programs.
Her recent focus in research, as project officer, has contributed to an Office of Learning and Teaching commissioned project entitled “Shaping the 21st Century Student Experience at Regional Universities”.
Melissa believes the key purpose of teaching is to inspire a passion in learners to desire greater knowledge; leading to an enriched quality of life, nourished by an innate enthusiasm to source, master and share new knowledge with others.
