Dennis has worked in the Education sector for over 40 years and held the positions of Teacher, Teaching Principal, Principal, Director of Schools, Executive Director of Schools in Queensland and Senior Education Officer for the Shepparton Network in Victoria. He is passionate about schools and school sites having a clearly defined “Sense of Moral Purpose” which places “Students at the Centre” M. Fullan (2008) within an environment that has high expectations supported by professional teams that reflect on every aspect of their work.
Since 2008 he has fulfilled various roles for Education Queensland International both in Qatar and Australia. Initially in Qatar, he acted as an educational consultant working with 10 primary, middle and senior secondary schools to form a cluster of schools, implement the National Professional Standards for Teachers and Leaders, adopt the policies of Recruitment and Selection, Induction, Professional Development, Managing Performance, Managing Under-Performance, and Teacher Registration.
In 2010 he performed the role of In Country Manager for EQI in Qatar overseeing some 70 consultants across a number of projects, a role he thoroughly enjoyed in a challenging environment.
From 2011-2014 Dennis acted in the role of State Accreditation Manager for 70 state primary and secondary schools, which were accredited under the CRICOS and National Code of Practice to conduct International Student Programs.
In April 2014 Dennis was appointed to the position of Education Professional Learning Coordinator (recently renamed Education Partnerships and Professional Learning) at USC where he coordinates the placement of some 750 student teachers for their Student Professional Experience (SPE) at various sites including Rural and Remote locations. Recently, he has been given the added responsibility of leading the ongoing development of partnerships with education providers.
