Profile

John originally studied environmental science with particular focus on environmental chemistry and later studied clinical biochemistry, and then undertook a PhD examining the enzymological basis for protection against ultraviolet-induced damage in the eye. He has then since held post-doctoral research positions at Griffith University, the Queensland Institute of Medical Research and the University of QLD, covering the fields of enzymology, microbiology, molecular genetics and biochemistry. He has had a number of publications in International and peer-reviewed journals in microbiology, biochemistry and enzymology and is now concentrating on teaching.
