Michelle is the Program Leader for the Masters of Midwifery which has run at the University of the Sunshine Coast since 2007. She is a member of the Australian College of Midwives Queensland Executive Branch and acts as a peer reviewer for the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC). Michelle's interests are in exploratory learning strategies such as case based learning upon which the masters program curriculum is built.

Michelle's PhD research is investigating midwives responses to the changed re-registration requirements in Australia.
