Emma Sheers (2009) Waterskiing

There was no better female water-skiier in the world in the early 2000s than Pelican Waters' Emma Sheers.

In 2001, Emma was the world slalom champion—a title she also captured in 2003.

It was also in 2003 that she won the world championship in the jump discipline and the award for being the International Waterski Federation's Athlete of the Year.

She was again named Athlete of the Year in 2005.

Earlier in her career, Emma, who represented Australia for more than a decade, claimed the world jump title in 1999 and she was a two-time junior world jump champion.
