Kristy Munroe (2005) Surf Lifesaving

The induction of Kristy Ellis (nee Munroe) into the hall of fame at just 23 years of age, proves the significance of her achievements in the sport of surf lifesaving.

By the time she'd come of age Kristy had won our national ironwoman title and the world championship. In fact just 12 months after she'd won the Australian under 19 ironwoman championship she defeated a star studded field to win the coveted open title.

The 2004 world ironwoman champion is also a multiple world and national champion in board and ski disciplines. She is a long time member of the Alexandra Headland Surf Club.

On Australia Day 2015, Kristy was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her services to surf lifesaving.
