Public transport

Sunbus runs regular bus services between various Sunshine Coast locations and the University's campus. The USC Transit Centre includes a three-platform bus interchange and dedicated bus/pedestrian link directly from the University into Chancellor Park.

Refer to the transport map for the location on campus.

Information on Sunbus routes and timetables can be found on the TransLink Journey Planner website. Use the journey planner to find times and services that suit you.

A bus service connects the Queensland Rail CityTrain with the University via Landsborough and Nambour stations. Use the journey planner on the Translink website to find timetables and fares for this route.

The AirTrain service links passengers from Brisbane’s Domestic and International Airports to Queensland Rail services.

With increased services, frequency, bus stops and reduced travel time, bus travel to USC has never been easier—why not give it a try?

TransLink go cards

Cards are available to purchase at Coop Bookshop (the Coop Bookshop can only refund up to A$50 in cash). Go cards can also be purchased from train stations, by telephone on 13 12 30, or from the TransLink website.

Fares are about 30 percent cheaper than the cost of a single paper ticket.

Simply touch your go card on at the beginning and touch off at the end of your journey across all TransLink bus, train and ferry services. The correct fare is automatically deducted from your balance.

Concession go cards

Students who attend a university located in Queensland, and are deemed to be 'full-time' by the University may be eligible for concession fares on their go card.

Tertiary Transport Concession Cards are no longer required with students in South East Queensland now being able to apply online for tertiary concession fares on their go card.

To find out more on if you are eligible, please visit the Translink website.

How to top up your go card?
  • Set up auto top-up and the balance of your go card will be automatically topped up to a pre-set amount once it reaches A$5.
  • At selected go card retailers, on fare machines at selected busway and QR stations, online at or  telephone 13 12 30.

For PDF documents you must have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, which can be downloaded from the Adobe Download page.

Wide Bay Transit buses link the campus with all major shopping centres and suburbs of Hervey Bay and Maryborough.

USC Fraser Coast is easily accessible by car and bicycle, with ample parking.

Fraser Coast Airport is a 10-minute drive from the campus.
