The Co-op Bookshop at the University of the Sunshine Coast has won a national award for outstanding performance and service.

Store manager Karen Russell said that with over 45 Co-op Bookshop stores across Australia, it was a great achievement for the USC branch to be named as the “most outstanding branch”.

“The award was presented on Wednesday 10 November and recognises the highest-performing branch in relation to sales and stock control and improved ranges across the store, as well as its relationships on campus,” she said.

“This is an acknowledgement of all the hard work we have put in over the past 12 months and an indication that business is still running efficiently and well.

“To students at USC, this award means that they have one of the best book shops to buy their textbooks and books from.”

The USC Co-op Bookshop’s sales increased six percent above budget and its final year result was a huge 25 percent increase against budget.

The Co-op Bookshop is a one-stop shop for textbooks, general books, stationery and academic software. It is open to students, staff and the general public, and offers discounts to Co-op Bookshop members.

Ms Russell said her team had excelled in their roles with stock control, rationalising non-book products, building campus relationships and bringing the best service to students at USC.

The Co-op Bookshop can be found online at or can be contacted on 5430 1205.
