Potential students wanting to attend the University of the Sunshine Coast’s new Gympie Learning Hub in 2013 can get their questions answered face-to-face at an event in Gympie on Tuesday 18 December.
The USC Gympie Options Q&A Evening will be held from 5.30pm to 7pm at the Fossicker’s Room, Gympie Civic Centre, Mellor Street, Gympie.
USC External Relations Manager Kylie Russell said the event would suit people who had already chosen a study area at USC Gympie as a QTAC preference, as well those who had not yet applied.
It will feature academic, admissions and support staff offering one-on-one advice about degree options, pathways to university, overseas study as part of a USC degree, scholarships, fees, financial support and student services.
Ms Russell said it would be a great opportunity for people seeking details on the University’s study options at Gympie next year.
Semester 1 classes will be provided at the Wide Bay Institute of TAFE Gympie campus and James Nash State High School while construction of USC’s two-storey facility on the WBIT campus is completed.
“Study options at Gympie will include Bachelor of Nursing Science, Bachelor of Primary Education, Tertiary Preparation Pathway and Headstart Program,” Ms Russell said.
Current USC students also would share their experiences at the event.
“They’ll have plenty of tips on how to thrive in your first year of uni,” she said.
