Dozens of University of the Sunshine Coast students will begin this semester with fewer transport worries and more money in their wallets.
USC is trialling free express shuttle bus services for students and staff from Gympie and Cooroy, Noosa and Coolum, and North Lakes and Caboolture in a bid to encourage greater use of more sustainable transport options.
Three buses are set to depart Gympie at 6.30am, North Lakes at 6.45am and Noosa J at 6.50am, and arrive almost simultaneously at USC at 7.45am.
The Gympie bus will start outside the Centro Shopping Centre (corner Excelsior Road and Perseverance Street) at 6.30am and stop once at Cooroy (corner Elm and Opal Streets) on its way to USC.
The North Lakes service will begin outside the Westfield North Lakes Shopping Centre (Corner North Lakes Drive and The Corso, Stop B) at 6.45am, stopping once at the Caboolture Railway Station (Stop E).
The Noosa bus will start at Noosa J at 6.50am and stop outside the Noosa Civic Shopping Centre at 7am and Coolum State School at Barns Lane at 7.15am.
All three buses will depart USC at 5.10pm for return trips to Gympie, Noosa and North Lakes.
