An exhibition of new multimedia works by artists who teach at the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE (SCIT) is now on show at the University of the Sunshine Coast Gallery.
True Stories from the Studio brings together the works of painters, print makers, sculptors, ceramic artists and friends who also happen to be art teachers at SCIT’s Tewantin campus.
The exhibition, on display at the USC Gallery from today (26 April) to Saturday 1 June, will be officially opened on Thursday 2 May at 6.30pm by SCIT’s Head of School and Creative Industries Robyn Littlejohn.
Media and the public are welcome to attend the official opening.
USC Gallery Curator Dawn Oelrich said the artists’ combination of teaching and art practice had produced fresh outcomes in paint, video, clay and other media.
“The teachers have been inspired by new ideas and methods and interactions with their students in the classroom,” Ms Oelrich said.
The gallery is located at the University campus on Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs. It is open free to the public from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and closed Sundays and public holidays.
