The host of the ABC TV’s popular Gardening Australia program, Costa Georgiadis, will deliver a guest lecture for academics and students at the University of the Sunshine Coast on Friday 30 August.
Costa will discuss community awareness about waste disposal with his address, ‘Monkey Hear Monkey Do … Why the changing face of waste requires visions based on a new vocabulary’, at USC's Innovation Centre from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
The passionate landscape architect said he was looking forward to speaking at the University about how to inspire greater enthusiasm for recycling and composting.
“Community awareness and consciousness around waste is our greatest partner when it comes to embedding new visions and real leadership in this vital field,” Costa said.
“Now is the time to engage, entertain and inform on all platforms, particularly through social media and social innovation.”
Costa will also receive a special tour of the USC campus to inspect the University’s sustainability and recycling measures, a translocated habitat, recent landscaping work and areas planned for Indigenous bush tucker plantings.
