The University of the Sunshine Coast has cancelled its free shuttle bus for students from Gympie for today (Tuesday 26 February).

This decision was made early this morning when USC was advised that floodwaters had cut the Bruce Highway at Traveston, south of Gympie.

The highway is expected to remain impassable until tomorrow afternoon at least.

USC will recommence the bus service once the highway is reopened.

In the meantime, alternative transport will be provided for several Cooroy students who usually catch the Gympie shuttle bus.

The University’s other free bus services to Noosa, North Lakes and Caboolture will continue as normal, bringing more than 80 students to Sippy Downs each day.
