Crowds totalling 3,500 people are expected to attend two graduation ceremonies at the University of the Sunshine Coast on Friday 5 April.
More than 700 graduands will gown up for the formal occasions – one at 11am for the Faculty of Arts and Business and another at 5pm for the Faculty of Science, Health, Education and Engineering.
Both events in USC’s Sports Stadium will feature plenty of pomp and ceremony, including academic processions, the presentation of medals for outstanding academics and students, and the presentation of an honorary award.
USC Chancellor John Dobson OAM will confer degrees and certificates on 1,049 graduands in total.
The graduation addresses will be delivered by Queensland Parliament’s first female Speaker, Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson, at the 11am ceremony, and by Australian Environment International Chairman and Principal Adviser Dr Hugh Lavery at the 5pm event.
Both ceremonies will be video-streamed live.
