Daniel Van Hees of Townsville has traded places from student to teacher after graduating from the University of the Sunshine Coast recently.
Daniel, 38, is now teaching at Moranbah State High School after completing a combined Education and Science degree.
Daniel said he was enjoying his work and felt his USC Bachelor of Education/Bachelor of Science degree had prepared him well for standing up in front of classrooms.
“The educational side of the degree has taught me how to create engaging and meaningful lessons for students through theory and onsite learning at the school,” he said.
“The opportunity to work in groups at USC to overcome problems and the approachability of both staff and students made it a rewarding learning experience.
“The combination of the Sunshine Coast lifestyle, an occasional personal study or relaxation session on the beach and the helpful staff make USC an ideal place to study.”
Daniel received his degree at the USC Graduation ceremony with a university commendation last month.
