The University of the Sunshine Coast has been overwhelmed by the response to its inaugural GO (Global Opportunities) Program Photo Competition, with almost 200 entries from 74 students.
USC’s GO Program enables students to travel overseas and experience different cultures while studying to earn credit towards their USC degrees. The University has more than 70 partner institutions across the world, including the United States of America, Europe and Asia, offering courses in English.
International students on campus at Sippy Downs were also eligible to submit photos of their Australian experiences.
USC Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill said the 189 entries depicted an amazing diversity of student experiences this year and last year in 14 countries.
The three competition categories include People and Culture, Natural and Urban Landscapes and In The Moment.
Professor Hill will announce winners in each category along with other prizes at a ceremony at the USC Brasserie on Monday 14 October between 1pm and 2pm.
The total prize pool of A$5,750 includes sponsorship by Lucas Muro Photography, the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor (International and Quality), the Co-Op, Kite Thrill and Evolution Espresso.
