Published on 25 September 2013

The University of the Sunshine Coast might have only just celebrated its 10,000th graduate in April last year.

But USC’s alumni will soon number more than 12,000 after the University stages its third Graduation ceremony for 2013 on Thursday 3 October.

Almost 300 graduands will don gowns and mortarboards for the event, which will be watched by a crowd of more than 1,100 family members, friends and academics, and many others online via the USC website.

The event will feature an academic procession, medals for high-achieving students and staff, and the presentation of three honorary awards.

Since the April 2012 Graduation, about 1,500 degrees and certificates have been conferred to graduates across three ceremonies. A further 500 will be awarded at next week’s ceremony.
