Gordon Ramsay of Narangba has been enjoying his role as business development manager with an international firm since completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
Gordon, 41, who graduated from USC on Thursday 10 April, said the knowledge acquired from his studies was useful every day in his work with Gambro, a global manufacturer of medical equipment.
“Studying an MBA has provided me with a vast depth of knowledge that I now employ on a daily basis and has facilitated a greater understanding through all facets of the business,” he said.
Gordon has worked in the medical device market for 12 years and his future career plans are focused on marketing and product management in the medical arena.
He decided to study at USC partly for the convenient location – along with the facilities and services available at the Caboolture Study Hub, even closer to home.
“I also chose USC because of the flexibility of the enrolment due to the availability of online study as well as in-class lectures,” he said. “As I travel quite a bit this became even more of a benefit and justification for my choice.
Gordon said he appreciated how the courses at USC were “very much focused on the real world” and that they provided the opportunity of sharing experiences with other students from different cultures, employment backgrounds and experience.
“I also met many lecturers with a real passion for their field of study which made the learning experience so much better,” he said.
Originally from Scotland, Gordon has lived in Australia for almost seven years and is now an Australian citizen.
