New way for community to help USC research

USC has launched a new initiative to enable local residents to take part in exciting research projects.

The ‘Take Part’ initiative now provides a quick and easy way for people to register their interest online for a wide variety of cutting-edge research.

Head of School of Social Sciences Professor Doug Mahar said ‘Take Part’ would help progress studies that are likely to benefit people locally, nationally and globally.

“This is USC’s invitation to the community to take part in research that will help further knowledge, facilitate discoveries and support important work,” he said.

“Community members who have experience with regard to certain psychological or physical conditions or life issues, either personally or through people close to them, can make valuable contributions.

“We are encouraging people to sign up – to either participate in the current studies, or to be kept aware of upcoming research they may be interested in.”

The initiative, launched in time for USC’s annual Research Week, 14-18 July, currently features the following three research projects:
