The University of the Sunshine Coast is inviting engineers from across the region to attend a seminar that could help them seal a very strong future for the community’s roads and pathways.
The seminar on Pavement Technologies, from 29-31 May, will bring together engineering academics, industry specialists and a leading international keynote speaker.
USC Professor of Engineering Mark Porter said seminar subjects would include long-life pavements, mechanistic pavement design, network management, recycling of concrete and pavement, and project management.
“We will be hosting some highly-respected presenters from across the engineering spectrum to discuss topics relating to design, innovation, construction and sustainability,” Professor Porter said.
He said keynote speaker Professor John Harvey from the University of California Pavement Research Centre was recognised internationally as a leader in the field of pavement technologies.
Highlights will also include a presentation from a USC Senior Lecturer in Engineering Materials, Ayodele Olofinjana, who will speak about Recycling of Portland Cement Concrete: A step in “greening” construction materials.
