A special presentation on Thursday 13 November about nutrition for athletes will kick off a series of public talks by USC researchers about sport, health and wellbeing.
The talk by Nutrition and Dietetics Honours student Kristin Lawrence will be held at Sunshine Coast Grammar School, Forest Glen, from 6.45-7.15pm.
It will be the first of four public presentations aimed at teenage athletes and their parents, with the following three sessions to be held weekly from Friday 28 November from 5.30-6pm at USC’s Sports Stadium.
Dr Bridie Scott-Parker will present ‘Driving to the game – road safety for L platers and their parents’ on Friday 28 November and ‘Driving to the game – road safety for P platers and their parents’ on Friday 5 December.
Sports Science PhD student Cecilia Severin will discuss ‘Prehab versus Rehab’ – on the benefits of preventing injuries from occurring rather than dealing with their consequences – on Friday 12 December.
These talks are being presented by USC’s discipline of Sport and Exercise Science, the Centre for Support and Advancement of Learning and Teaching and the USC Basketball Club.
