I provide financial planning advice to business owners in the areas of investments, insurance, superannuation, estate planning, asset structuring and protection.
How I got the job
I worked in NAB’s Business Banking team while studying and I had a position created for me on the North-side of Brisbane once I finished my studies.
What I enjoy most
I like being able to impart my knowledge to my clients to ensure they meet their financial goals.
I meet a wide variety of business owners and I get to know their story including how they became successful and their goals and aspirations.
It provided me with greater opportunities. The degree assisted me in exceeding the minimum expectation in the Financial Planning industry (RG146) qualification, and also set me up to enrol in the Certified Financial Planner designation through the Financial Planning Association of Australia which has a degree requirement.
It had a fantastic selection of courses. At the time, USC was one of the only universities that offered the specialised subjects for the career I wanted to pursue. USC also suited my lifestyle and met my study goals.
The flexible study options meant I could complete my degree part time, mainly after work, while I was working full time.
I also liked the small class sizes. It was great to have more personal contact with the staff running the subjects.
