I do a lot of compliance work for ASX listed companies including tax effect accounting, preparing tax returns and also provide tax advice.
I act as an in-house tax accountant for one of our multinational ASX listed clients and go to their premises once a week to work and taking on a commercial role.
How I got the job
I was well prepared for the interview. I did research on the company and thought about the responses I would provide when they asked me the questions. I also had experience.
The great quality teaching and the university staff helped me gain part-time work in an accounting firm while I studied and this helped me stand out. I also showed 110% enthusiasm.
What I enjoy most
I really enjoy the people and social events and I like meeting clients. I also like having exposure to a variety of tax areas and quality training.
I really enjoyed accounting and maths at school and I wanted to make a career out of something I enjoyed doing. University was the best way to get me there.
USC was close to where I lived, it offered the course I wanted and had lecturers that had great experience.
At USC I enjoyed making new friends, friendly lecturers, and the Study Overseas program.
I studied in South Korea in my second year. It was one of the best experiences of my life! I still keep in contact with a lot of the friends I made there.
