The Vice-Chancellor's Learning and Teaching Colloquium took place in 2006, 2007 and 2009. It celebrated and explored good practice in learning and teaching at USC.

2009

Date: 10 June 2009 Theme: Curriculum Design and Assessment Program
148 participants attended the program sessions, including:

  • parallel sessions that gave staff the opportunity to present scholarly aspects of their teaching practice as related to curriculum design and assessment
  • parallel workshops whereby participants were able to explore one of the areas of narrative pedagogy, group dynamics in teams, feedback systems or student retention
  • a keynote presentation, 'Epiphanies on learning for excellence', by Professor Noel Meyers

2007

Date: 30 May 2007 Theme: The Scholarship of Teaching Program
Over 100 participants attended the program sessions, including a:

2006

Date: 31 May 2006 Theme: Enhancing Transition and the First Year Experience Program:
Seventy participants enjoyed a rich program, including a:

  • student panel discussion
  • keynote address from Professor Kerri-Lee Krause on ‘Transition to and through the first year: Strategies to enhance the student experience’
  • presentation by Dr Maria Raciti, the 2006 recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Medal for Outstanding University Teacher
