Professional learning for teaching staff

Breadcrumbs

The Centre for Support and Advancement of Learning and Teaching (C-SALT) coordinates professional learning activities to support you in making the most of your academic efforts to create positive learning experiences for students.

An academic's professional learning journey is an ongoing process of inquiry into, growth of, and reflection on, one's teaching practice.

We believe this process involves

  • examining and challenging assumptions about your role, experimenting with teaching strategies,
  • developing a deeper understanding of your discipline, the students you teach and how your students learn, and
  • undertaking formal and informal learning activities and programs to enhance professional knowledge, skills and attitudes.

Ongoing professional learning leads to more scholarly practice and dissemination of evidence-based learning and teaching activities.
