This course enables you to gain an understanding of the essential role that language plays in the subject areas of English and Mathematics in the context of children’s learning from early childhood through to the primary school years. It also d evelops your personal knowledge about language and concepts of numeracy. Focus is placed on: teacher personal literacy and numeracy; the content and process demands of the Australian Curriculum in English and maths in the primary years , and the principles and practices of teaching and learning that guide instruction.
