PrePlace induction program
PrePlace is the name of an online training module provided by the University to effectively prepare students for their placements. It provides information and training that will enable students to gain the most from their placement and to operate in a professional and safe manner.
Reading the information and completing the assessment tasks in the PrePlace induction program * will facilitate a student's transition from University student to a student learning in a workplace environment.
Following enrolment in your placement course please access the Preplace induction program * and complete the online modules in preparation for your placement.

- What is PrePlace?
PrePlace is a series of three short online modules (PrePlace Preparation, Work Health & Safety and Workplace Dynamics) that will assist in preparing you for situations within the workplace. For details on how to log on and use PrePlace please refer to the Quick Guide to PrePlace (PDF 443KB).
- Where will I find PrePlace?
PrePlace is located on Blackboard. You will find it under the ‘USC Community’ tab within the ‘Organisations’.
- When can I access PrePlace?
You need to be enrolled in an authorised placement course. Once you are enrolled, you will have access to PrePlace 50 days prior to the commencement of the semester / session, until 50 days after the conclusion of the semester / session.
- I'm experiencing technical difficulties and/or the videos aren’t playing
You will need to contact IT Services. It is essential that you include any screenshots of errors, a detailed description of the problem, information regarding the type of device and internet connection you are using and any other information that will assist IT Services in resolving your issue.
The videos in the quizzes require quite a substantial bandwidth, if you experience difficulties, you many need to complete the modules on campus. If you are unable to access the modules on your home computer or the campus computers, please contact IT Services.
- What do I need to upload to WILS online?
Once you have successfully completed PrePlace, you will be issued a personalised Certificate. It can take up to 60 seconds for this to occur. Once you have your certificate, you need to upload it to WILS Online.
For you to be eligible to be covered for University insurance while undertaking work integrated learning you must be a student with an active enrolment status in accordance with the definition provided in the Admissions, Enrolments and Graduation – Academic Policy.
