Assistant Educator (Paid, Casual) – Gympie (QLD)

As Assisting Educator, you will help with the preparation, implementation and evaluation of educational programs designed to bring out the children's best. You will work with children individually and in groups, and support the Lead Educator in completing daily observations for program planning purposes. You will also help to create a caring, secure and active learning environment.

We expect you will have:

  • Experience caring for children of all ages, while respecting any cultural, socio-economic or other differences and giving consideration to individual interests, special needs and aptitudes
  • A strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
  • Experience in an early childhood setting or in a similar role
  • A Certificate III in Children's Services or study towards an approved early childhood education diploma qualification
  • A current Working with Children Check or equivalent, current driver's license, first aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) and resuscitation certificate.


  • Advance in the casual Assisting Lead Educator role (Up to 37.5-hours per week).

The opportunity: There are two part-time Paralegal positions available in the Office of the General Counsel (OGC). You will be required to perform duties in accordance with the APS Values and Code of Conduct:

  • Have a sound general knowledge of the role and functions of the Department and an understanding of how these relate to this role
  • Have a good understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks applicable to the portfolio
  • Make decisions with some autonomy that relate to the role
  • Apply judgement, knowledge and limited discretion in interpreting and applying instructions, guidelines and procedures
  • Identify and contribute to the resolution of issues and problems
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative matters

The Royal Mail Hotel is looking for a motivated gardener to maintain its grounds. Located in the southern Grampians town of Dunkeld, we are looking for someone to join our experienced Gardens team and enjoy all that regional Victoria has to offer.

The primary focus of this role is to undertake day to day horticultural inspection and maintenance of:

  • Australian native plants
  • Fertilise, plant and prune
  • Control pests and disease
  • Assist in selection of seeds, plants, fertilisers and other materials in accordance with the garden plan
  • General garden clean up and maintenance of equipment
  • Maintenance of lawn appearance and quality
  • Pool maintenance
  • Orchard and olive grove maintenance

Queensland’s Biggest and Best Bike Ride - Volunteer Opportunities (Unpaid, Casual) - Brisbane, QLD 

This event takes an enormous effort to organise and simply would not be possible without the generous help of a large team of volunteers. Volunteering on for Bicycle Queensland events is all about learning new skills, meeting new people and having fun. There are a wide variety of volunteer roles available at the start and finish as well as along the bike route. Roles include distributing food at rest stops, cheering on the riders, customer service, being a marshal out on the bike route and many more.
